Installation of Officers 2009 - Saturday 31 January
2009
The installation of LOL1927 Officers for 2009 took place on Saturday
31st January 2009 in the Apprentice boys Memorial hall. The installation
was carried out by the W.D.M Bro Devenney and D.D.M Bro Steven Elder.
Afterwards the lodge went back to their roots in Boniemaine Bridgend to
Harry’s Restaurant for a meal and visited the former site of the original
Orange Hall.
This is a very important year for the local orange lodges as it is the
175th Anniversary of the formation of the City Grand Lodge which governs
all the local Lodges including LOL1927. The lodge decided to share their
very rich and interesting history since LOL1927 was formed from Island
of Inch Orange Lodge which dates back over 140 years.
