HISTORIC SASH PRESENTED TO BURT FAITH DEFENDERS LOL 1927
Mr Samuel Beattie of Goshaden, Co. Londonderry presented an old Orange Sash, which belonged to his late uncle Thomas Beattie, to Wor. Bro. Thomas Crawford D. M. of Burt Faith Defenders Loyal Orange Lodge No 1927 Co. Donegal. The late Bro. Beattie joined the Lodge around 1910 which means that the sash is probably 100 years old. It is in excellent condition and will now be worn by the W.M. of the Lodge as a badge and sign of his office. The Beattie family lived in Burt, Co. Donegal and moved to Northern Ireland around 1937. The Lodge are indebted to Mr Samuel Beattie for presenting this very special item to LOL 1927 and assure him that it will be well cared for and displayed at various venues.
